A portrait of Arthur Dehon Little

Arthur Dehon Little was a pioneer and free thinker who focused more on opportunities than difficulties.
Even in early childhood, Little was interested in chemistry – leading him to study chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1881. His enthusiasm and innovative spirit were clearly reflected in the foundation of the campus magazine “Tech”. However unfortunately, he had to leave MIT without a degree due to financial difficulties.

Having gained some work experience, Little founded “Griffin and Little, Chemical Engineers” with his partner Roger B. Griffin on October 1st 1886. In 1910, Little accepted an offer to set up an R&D lab for General Motors. This assignment was the foundation of today’s business and led Little to expand his work in other sectors. Spectacular projects ensued, making the company what it is today; the world’s first consulting firm with a focus on strategy, technology and innovation.

Arthur Dehon Little died in 1935.
